Crown Building

New York, USA, 730 Fifth Avenue

Crown Building is a renovation project of a historic tower in Manhattan, built in 1921 by the architectural firm Warren and Wetmore—the authors of Grand Central Terminal. The building is considered one of the most expensive retail and office spaces in the United States and will be transformed into a 26-story office building with a class A hotel and luxury condos as part of the project. In addition, the building will have a spa center with a swimming pool, hammam, sauna and treatment room, and some apartments will even have their own private pools on their terraces.

Jean-Michel Gati in 1983 founded his firm "Denniston Architects" in Hong Kong, then moved to Malaysia. At the time, the architecture of luxury hotels and boutique hotels was niche. He has worked on refurbishing luxury shops and banks. It refers to the architect Jeffrey Bave and "tropical architecture". In the years that followed, he created several establishments for himself such as Amanwana, the Aman Grand Canal in Venice with 24 rooms in a historic building; Aman at the China Summer Palace in Beijing; Aman New York with its 83 rooms and suites, a 25-meter pool.
